“I found him whom my soul loves. I held him, and would not let him go” (Song of Solomon 3:4)

Christ received us with joy when we came to Him with our sin. He exalted when we gave up trying to save ourselves and repented. There’s no one on Earth like Him. He’s the best of all that is good, the fairest of all. Oh, praise Him!

“Sing to the LORD a new song! Sing to the LORD, all the earth. Sing to the LORD, bless His name; Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day” (Psalms 96:1–2).

Down with your idols, up with the Lord Jesus. Let the cross of Christ, which the world frowns and scoffs at, be lifted high. Oh, my soul, exalt Him on His throne in My heart, and let me sit at His footstool, and kiss His feet, and wash them with my tears. Oh, how precious is Christ! How foolish I was to not enjoy Him! How foolish I was to look to created things to satisfy my deep need.

Fellow believer, make a covenant with your heart that you’ll never again be lured away from Him, and seek the grace to make it reality. Ask Him to wear you as a ring on His finger, and a bracelet on His arm.

“let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water” (Hebrews 10:22). “We have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him” (1 John 4:16).
