“For this child I prayed” ( 1 Samuel 1:27)

All through history, the people of God have regarded sex and babies as a gift of God to be enjoyed only within marriage…this has never changed.

Submit your sex life to God. “This is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God” (1 Thessalonians 4:3-5).

If you’re saved, your body belongs to Christ. “Flee sexual immorality …do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s” (1 Corinthians 6:18–20.

God designed sex to keep married couples happy. “Because of sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband. Let the husband render to his wife the affection due her, and likewise also the wife to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. And likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. Do not deprive one another except with consent for a time, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again so that Satan does not tempt you because of your lack of self-control” (1 Corinthians 7:2–5).

God warns against sex outside of marriage. “Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge” (Hebrews 13:4).

Sexual sins are listed before other sins. “Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness … those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God” (Galatians 5:19–21). “Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites …will inherit the kingdom of God” (1 Corinthians 6:9–10).
