“The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it” (Revelation 21:23)

The glory of God illuminates Heaven, so there’s no day and night cycle. Our bodies will be perfect, so we’ll never need sleep. Our clothes will never wear out, so we’ll never need to change them. We’ll never feel bad, so we’ll never have to call in sick…but the best part is, we’ll never want an excuse to stop worshipping God. We’ll never grumble or complain or “take time off”, because despite all the activities, it will be an eternal day of rest (Hebrews 4:9).

“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away" (Revelation 21:2). “They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat; for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes” (Revelation 7:16-17).

We will feast at the King’s table. We will all be taught of the Lord. We won’t need apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers, for our equipping for the work of ministry, or the edifying of the body of Christ, because we’ll all have come to the fullest knowledge of the Son of God” (Ephesians 4:11-13).

What a glorious hour when God, and not His creatures; the Lord, and not His works, shall be our daily joy! Our souls shall then have attained the perfection of bliss.
