“So she gleaned in the field until evening” (Ruth 2:17)
Ruth did the best she could with what God gave her. She humbly gleaned until God gave her greater things to do. If you want God to use you for great things, glean.

  1) “He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much” (Luke 16:10). If you don’t glean what you can, God won’t give you anything more. It’s not how much He gives you that matters, it’s what you do with it. You don’t want Christ to say to you, “You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed … to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away” (Matthew 25:26-29).

  2) “Submit to God … Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded ... Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up” (James 4:7-10).

  3) “Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.  Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others” (Philippians 2:3-4).

  4) “Whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant. And whoever of you desires to be first shall be slave of all.  For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many” (Mark 10:42-45).

  5) “Whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men,  knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ” (Colossians 3:23-24).
