“The daughter of Jerusalem Has shaken her head behind your back!” (Isaiah 37:22)

When Jerusalem was under siege, King Hezekiah prayed to God: "O Lord of hosts, God of Israel ... save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You are the Lord". God answered, “because you have prayed to Me against Sennacherib king of Assyria, this is the word which the Lord has spoken concerning him: ‘The virgin, the daughter of Zion, Has despised you, laughed you to scorn; The daughter of Jerusalem Has shaken her head behind your back!’”(Isaiah 37:21-22).
Reassured by the Word of the Lord, the women of Jerusalem grew bold, and shook their heads at Sennacherib's threats against God’s people. Strong faith enables saints to see things from God’s perspective. Because saints know their names are written in the Book of Life, they don’t fear death. Christ came to “release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage” (Hebrews 2:14-16). The only thing Saints should fear is displeasing God. “Do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell” (Matthew 10:28).
Sinners have only a short time to rage. They are utterly powerlessness to destroy your eternal soul, so you can laugh at their threats, and “pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you” (Matthew 5:44). So away, then, all your fears, your future is secured. Shout for joy, for the Lord reigns, and His foes are helpless to change your eternal destiny.
"As true as God's own word is true; Nor earth, nor hell, with all their crew, Against us shall prevail. A jest, and by-word, are they grown; God is with us, we are his own,
                  Our victory cannot fail."
