“The guarantee of our inheritance” (Ephesians 1:14)

Oh! what enlightenment, what joy, what consolation, what delight of heart is experienced by the saint who’s learned to feed on Christ. Even though we’ve only barely tasted, it whets our appetite for the Blessed Hope. “For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known” (1 Corinthians 13:12).
We are in spiritual kindergarten; for although we’ve learned the first letters of the alphabet, we can’t read words yet, much less put sentences together; but we know enough to “groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. For we were saved in this hope … we eagerly wait for it with perseverance” (Romans 8:23-25).
Oh, Christian, you’ll be in Heaven soon. You’ll be done with trials and putting to death your flesh, for God will supernaturally change you, “in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye … For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality” (1 Corinthians 15:52-53).
“The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs - heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ” (Romans 8:16-17).
“God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away” (Revelation 21:4).
“To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne” (Revelation 3:18).
