“And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish” (John 10:28)
It’s Christ that gives Eternal Life. “He who does not have the Son of God does not have Life” (1 John 5:12).
Many think they have Christ, but they’re deceived. They will hear Christ say on judgment day, “I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!” (Matthew 7:23).
The Biblical evidence you have Christ is you keep His commandments. “Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him” (1 John 2:3-4).
Having Christ and Eternal Life is experienced when you are born of the Holy Spirit. “You are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His … if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you” (Romans 8:9-11).
If you don’t have Christ and Eternal Life, there’s still time to repent. “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord” (Acts 3:19).
Repentance is necessary to obtain Christ and Eternal Life. “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit” (Acts 2:38).
Conversion is necessary to obtain Christ and Eternal Life. “Unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of Heaven” (Matthew 18:3).
The Gospel says “repent, turn to God, and do works befitting repentance” (Acts 26:20).
