“Received up in glory” (1 Timothy 3:16)
Christ is Glorified by His sacrifice.
On Earth, our Savior was “despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief” (Isaiah 53:3-5), but how glorious it must have been when He returned to Heaven in triumph! He purchased His Church and gave them Holy Spirit Gifts: “Some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:11-12).
Christ is glorified in His Church.
“Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the Word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish” (Ephesians 5:25-27).
Christ will glorify His Church when He returns.
“Our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory” (Philippians 3:20-21). “When He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who believe … that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you in Him” (2 Thessalonians 1:10-12).
Christ will be glorified in His Church for eternity.
“He who sits on the throne will dwell among them. They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat; for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes” (Revelation 7:15-17). “Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready” (Revelation 19:7).
“He who glories, let him glory in the Lord!” (1 Corinthians 1:31).
