“Whom He justified, these He also glorified” (Romans 8:30)

If you’re a saint, God already sees you as glorified, but because you live in time and space, you’ll have to wait a few more days to see what He sees. “Now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known” (1 Corinthians 13:12).

What will it be like for saints? “God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away” (Revelation 21:4).

What will it be like for sinners? “The cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire” (Revelation 21:8).

Some saints ask, based on their experience on Earth, how they could be content doing nothing but playing harps for eternity. Look at how Christ lived on Earth. He only did the things His Father showed Him (John 5:19), and only said the things His Father told Him to say (John 12:49), yet, He was the most contented man that ever lived. What was normal for Him will be normal for you.

Your glorified Body won’t try to make you sin and your glorified attitude will be to joyfully please God in all things. You’ll live, in many ways, like an angel (Matthew 22:30). Hard as it may be to believe in your present condition, you’ll be content in Heaven to live without sex. I think that may be the best indication of how different your glorified body will be! We know from Scripture, we will eat and drink with our glorified bodies (Luke 22:30), do the work the Lord prescribes (Revelation 5:10), and worship God with saints from every place on Earth (Revelation 7:9-10).

So, when you’re tempted to despair, do as the early church did ... look to the Blessed Hope. “Live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the Blessed Hope” (Titus 2:12-13). “There is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing” (2 Timothy 4:8). “Our citizenship is in Heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body” (Philippians 3:20-21).

"Far from a world of grief and sin, With God eternally shut in," thou shalt rest for ever and ever.
