“Whom He justified, these He also glorified” (Romans 8:30)
If you’re a saint, God already sees you as glorified, but because you live in time and space, you’ll have to wait a few more days to experience what He sees. “Now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known” (1 Corinthians 13:12).
What will it be like for saints? “God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away” (Revelation 21:4).
What will it be like for sinners? “The cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire” (Revelation 21:8).
Heaven won’t be boring. Look at how Christ lived on Earth. He only did the things His Father showed Him, and only said the things His Father told Him to say (John 5:19, John 12:49), and yet, He was the most contented man that ever lived. What was normal for Him will be normal for you.
Your glorified Body will joyfully please God in all things. Hard as it may be to believe in your present condition, you’ll be content in Heaven to live without sex (Matthew 22:30). I think that may be the best indication of how different your glorified body will be! We know from Scripture, we will eat and drink, work as the Lord directs, and worship Him with saints from every place on Earth (Luke 22:30, Revelation 5:10, Revelation 7:9-10).
So, when you’re tempted to despair, do as the early church did ... look to the Blessed Hope. “Our citizenship is in Heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body” (Philippians 3:20-21).
