“In Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him” (Colossians 2:9-10)
All the attributes of Christ, as God and man, are at your disposal. All the fullness of the Godhead is yours to become what He wants you to be. The Apostle Paul put it this way: “I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me ... reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind” (Philippians 3:12-15).
Christ can’t endow you with the attributes of Deity; but He’s made His divine power and Godhead subservient to your salvation. His omnipotence, omniscience, omnipresence, immutability and infallibility, are all for your good. How vast His grace, how firm His faithfulness, how unswerving His immutability, how infinite His power, how limitless His knowledge! All these are by Christ made the pillars of the temple of salvation; and all, are covenanted to you as your inheritance. Every drop of His love; every ounce of His strength; the immensity of His divine knowledge, and the sternness of His divine justice are yours. The whole of Christ is given to you to enjoy.
His wisdom is your direction, His knowledge your instruction, His power your protection, His justice your surety, His love your comfort, His mercy your solace, and His immutability your trust. “He is the image of the invisible God ... And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist ... that in all things He may have the preeminence” (Colossians 1:15-18). “All things are yours ... the world or life or death, or things present or things to come — all are yours. And you are Christ's, and Christ is God's” (1 Corinthians 3:21-23).
