“Cursed be the man before the Lord who rises up and builds this city Jericho” (Joshua 6:26)

Since the man who rebuilt Jericho was cursed, how much more the ministers that rebuild denominations on sand that were once secure on the Solid Rock of obeying the Word of God?

Matthew 7:24-27: “Whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall”.

The Solid Rock is obeying the Word of God. If you obey the Word of God, you build on a solid foundation. If you don’t obey the Word of God, you build on a foundation that will not survive when Christ comes, and you’ll hear Christ say, “'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!” (Matthew 7:23). “Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him” (1 John 2:3-4).

Denominations that once taught obedience to the Word of God now teach you can be saved and live a life of sin. “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God” (1 Corinthians 6:9-10).

But they say, “I have faith!”. “You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe - and tremble! But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?” (James 2:19-21). Sinners have faith, but not saving faith. Saving faith will always bear good fruit.

Dear reader, please, find a church that preaches “lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted Word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves” (James 1:21-22).
