“He arose, and ate and drank; and he went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights” (1 Kings 19:8)
All the grace God gives us is intended for His service.
The prophet Elijah was given food and water by an angel to prepare him for a journey  of 40 days and 40 nights. Christ gave His disciples breakfast on the shore of the Sea of Tiberius to prepare them for His final commission. Queen Esther of Persia was raised to her exalted position so she could save the Jews from destruction.
If you’re saved, God has you exactly where He wants you, to do His will. No one else can do it. Some Christians don’t mind the bread and fishes Christ provides, but when He asks them to do something for Him, they draw back and make excuses. God says, “the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him” (Hebrews 10:38).
The brutal truth is, many Christians don’t know what the Bible says about forsaking the world for God: “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world - the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life - is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever” (1 John 2:15–17).
Now that you know this, are you willing to forsake the world and obey Christ unconditionally? I hope you aren’t among those who think they’re saved, but have no Biblical evidence.
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven … And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!” (Matthew 7:21–23).
