“Tell me where your great strength lies” (Judges 16:6)
Saints are only as strong as their faith. “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God” (Romans 10:17). They “walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:4). “Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him” (Hebrews 10:38). How can you make sure you’re pleasing to God? Feed on His Word.
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
God says, “My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways … as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:8). The primary way God convicts saints of sin, is by showing them how their lives compare to saints in the Bible. Christ said, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4). It may be painful, but it’s necessary, to be convicted by Scripture, if you are to be an overcomer.
God promised, “My word … that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it” (Isaiah 55:11). God wants you to grow up. He promised His disciples, the Holy Spirit will “bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you” (John 14:26). In order for the Holy Spirit to remind you of the Words of Christ, you first need to read them.
