“When I passed by you ... I said to you ... ‘Live!’” (Ezekiel 16:6)
The sinner has nothing to offer God but his sin to be forgiven. God walks past him, looks down, pauses, and says one word: “LIVE!”. Only the Creator of all life can turn a sinner into a saint.
LIVE eternally in Heaven rather than Hell. “Having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:22-23).
LIVE spiritually rather than remain spiritually deaf and blind: Your eyes and ears were closed to God, but by the grace of God, “blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear” (Matthew 13:16).
LIVE as opposed to being dead in sin: “You He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience” (Ephesians 2:1-2).
LIVE in the resurrection power of Christ: “Having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life” (Romans 5:8-11).
LIVE without a guilty conscience: “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit: (Romans 8:1).
