“If we endure, We shall also reign with Him” (2 Timothy 2:12)  

The Greek word translated “endure” is hupomeno, which means “stay under”. For the Christian, this Scripture means, “If we stay under the Lordship of Christ, we shall also reign with Him”. In order for you to have the power to stay under the Lordship of Christ, you must belong to Him. “If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord's” (Romans 14:8). Another way of saying you belong to the Lord is you are IN Christ. 

If you are IN Christ, He chose you before time. “God, who has saved us …according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us IN Christ Jesus before time began” (2 Timothy 1:8). 

If you are IN Christ, your heart was changed supernaturally. “If anyone is IN Christ, he is a new creation …all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17). 

If you are IN Christ, you have the Holy Spirit inside you. “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are IN Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit” (Romans 8:1). 

If you are IN Christ, you will do good works. “We are His workmanship, created IN Christ Jesus for good works” (Ephesians 2:10). 

If you are IN Christ, you have saving faith. “Not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith IN Christ” (Philippians 3:9). 

If you desire to live godly IN Christ, you will suffer. “All who desire to live godly IN Christ Jesus will suffer persecution” (2 Timothy 3:12). 

If you are IN Christ, He will come for you. “The dead IN Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17). 

Finally, if you are IN Christ, having submitted to the Lord Jesus Christ on Earth, you “shall also reign with Him”.
