“So the evening and the morning were the first day” (Genesis 1:5)

The Holy Scripture calls the combined total of the dark evening and the light morning, “day”. This is interesting, because it’s an analogy of the saint. Sixty-two times in the New Testament, Christians are called “saints”, which just means “holy”. Every Christian possesses both darkness and light, but they’re called “saints” because God made them holy by the blood of Christ.

At the same moment the saint stumbles, God sees His Son’s perfection. Because of this faith, we can come “boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16). “God is for us … He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us” (Romans 8:31-34).

So the next time you stumble, don’t give up. “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the Lord upholds him with His hand” (Psalms 37:23-24).
