“I have come to my garden, my sister, my spouse” (Song of Solomon 5:1)

We are Christ’s garden. The heart of every believer, and the Church, is Christ's garden. He bought it with His precious blood, and He claims it as His own. A garden implies separation. It’s not a wilderness; it’s designed specifically for the nurturing and growth of specific plants. It would be better for the Church to not allow wild plants to grow among God’s plants. This can happen gradually if there’s no separation between the churches and the world.

Christ's  garden is a place of holiness. Christ does not want denominations destroyed from within. It should shock the reader to know that most of the denominations that trace their beginnings to the puritans, no longer teach the Word of God.

It’s sad to hear Christians say, "Well, there’s no harm in this; there’s no harm in that”, thus getting as near to the world as possible. “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God” (Romans 12:2).

Christ's garden is a place of growth. Let’s not be content with plants that do not grow and cannot reproduce. “Beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked; but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:17-18).

“Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? ... the temple of God is holy, which temple you are. Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God” (1 Corinthians 3:16-19).
